Hawaii...

Acouple of weeks ago the Curtis family and us hopped  upon a plane destined for the beautiful island of Hawaii. It was amazing. Now, don't get me wrong, the traveling part was grueling but once we arrived in sunny, warm, beautiful Hawaii that was a thing of the past. We started our first day there on superbowl Sunday, we relaxed, watched the game and just basically enjoyed where we were. This place was paradise.
The first morning we were there Dyl and I were awake before anyone else so we headed downstairs in our t-shirts, skirts and flipflops and what did I see? A big, beautiful Starbucks with a huge patio and Bob Marley playing in the background. It was like it had this glowing halo of light around it as if the heavens had opened. No seriously, to those of you who know me this could not have been any better. So we went inside, ordered our drinks ( a iced, grande, vanilla latte for me and a vanilla milk for D) and had a seat on the patio surrounded by palm trees, listening to Bob and watching the surfers walking to the beach with their boards on their heads barefoot. Really? Is this how they live? We basically went to the beach everyday and spent hours there. Dylan couldn't get enough of the water and Elle just layed on a towel or in her stroller and dozed in and out to the sounds of the waves crashing. Hailey and I layed on the sand and just chatted like only to best girlfriends can. We caught up on the oh so important details of one anothers lives that easily go untalked about do to our busy lives and the stresses of the "real world". Tony and Rick snorkled just about every day with the exception of the last because Rick had 9 stiches due to a mishap with some coral. Seriously, only Rick. So after a week of bliss it was time to head home, usually by this point (or sooner) i'm dying to get home, but this was different, I was really sad. I didn't want to leave yet, I'm sure the majority of it had to do with the fact that I was there with my family, but still this was a rarity for me, this place really got to me and my kids. Anyway, I highly recommend this vacation to anyone with kids, it worked because we had no agenda or schedule just all the time in the world to just relax and be together. We also had a 2 bedroom condo with a kitchen and 2 baths which I do believe made a difference with 2 little girls and a baby. The best beach we went to was called Ko'olina (i thinks thats how you spell it) this was by far my favorite, we were the only ones there pretty much and the water was shallow and calm for the girls. I will never forget the first "real vacation" I took with both of my girls and the memories we made together with our best friends.
